Job Summary
The Convergent Systems Research Department is a team of engineers, specialists, and technicians who work collaboratively across the EIT intellectual ecosystem to solve pressing challenges in biomedicine. Our responsibilities span all stages of engineering design including ideation, prototyping and validation, and establishing SOP's.

As a Systems Integration Engineer, you will be responsible for advancing several ongoing engineering and technology development projects related to creating web-based/cloud-based software/hardware interfaces for data and image analysis and to developing methods to perform computational post-processing on data. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to optimize system utility for the unique healthcare environment.


Job Accountabilities:
The Systems Integration Engineer is responsible for performing the following job duties:
  • Apply standard engineering methods for the design, development, prototyping, and verification of electrical/optical/mechanical hardware of rapidly evolving biomedical instrumentation
  • Analyze and select individual components and materials to meet system requirements
  • Develop software for remote data access, analysis, and/or instrument control using LabVIEW, C++, Python, and/or MatLab
  • Perform test activities including writing test procedures, test planning, test conducting and data analysis
  • Troubleshoot and resolve malfunctions and make recommendations that will improve efficiency or quality of operations
  • Prepare documentation following Good Laboratory Practices, including supporting versioning and preparing detailed technical drawings, and write SOP's for operation
  • Collaborate with the other cross-functional teams to insure proper coordination of project, product, and system requirements
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Required Education: Bachelors degree in a field of electrical engineering or related field
Required Experience: 1-3 yrs
Required Field of Expertise: 
  • Ability to design and document electrical/optical/mechanical systems using CAD based layout tools (preferably AutoCAD)
  • Demonstrate knowledge of developing control systems for instrumentation using LabVIEW, C++, Python, MatLab, or similar
  • Ability to grasp, understand, and correlate many pieces of a disparate complex system concurrently in a rapidly evolving environment
  • Demonstrate understanding of standard hardware and software development and versioning documentation practices
  • Experience with data acquisition hardware and software in hands-on testing environments
  • Experience troubleshooting interactions between software and hardware such as network devices and lab instrumentation
  • Strong skills in troubleshooting, debugging, performance optimization, and unit testing
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Must be able to work both independently and in a team environment
Preferred Education: Masters degree in field of electrical engineering or related field
Preferred Experience: 1-3 yrs
Preferred Field of Expertise:
  • Experience building sensor networks from orthogonal sensor elements and/or machine vision (imaging) systems
  • Experience performing and translating biomedical technologies or imaging systems
  • Experience in developing and deploying cloud- and web-based user interfaces for instrumentation control
  • Experience with configuration management and version control software
Salary:  $103,927-$121,469
